Staying Grounded

It is important to remain cognizant that your mind will naturally want to go into a self protection mode when faced with challenges. This can lead to a disconnect, denial or, in cases of more extreme events, even dissociation. This is all to say, that it is important for your mental health, to live in reality. This is an opportunity to become stronger and further self improvement.

Journal Prompt:
-Journal about a time when you found yourself drifting from reality. Were there any consequences?
-Create a spreadsheet to track where and how much time is spent on different activities. Use the feelings chart to gauge and name your emotions surrounding the event.

Be completely open and honest with yourself and journal about any discoveries.
-What are your default habits and patterns?
-Do you notice any activities that are being used as a numbing agent, to fill a void?
-Go back and review SEEDS. Are you able to fulfill your basic needs?
-Is your emotional tank full or running on empty?
-Can you identify one area you would like to improve or adjust?
